+20 la Spot

Am cam neglijat acest blog in ultimul timp... I guess ca a fost o combinatie intre lipsa de timp, lipsa de evenimente interesante si lipsa de chef. Well, cu evenimentele nu e asa de grav - I've been known to write about anything. Ca si chiller care scrie posturi foarte interesante despre calatorii cu autobuzul, I mean, come on!, how low can you get?

Cred ca ieri seara aveam o idee despre ce sa scriu pe blog. But I lost it. Pentru ca in loc sa scriu am mai vazut vreo 3-4 episoade din "Planetes" this new anime I'm watching. Nice anime btw: sf realistic din viitorul apropiat, no big mechas, and the most powerful female character I've seen in a while. I mean powerful personality, of course. Anyway, I will review it, sper numai ca sa-mi placa la fel de mult pana la sfarsitul celor 26 de episoade. Se stie ca ma plictisesc repede.

Ce-am mai facut... Well there's been work, but I won't talk about that. In rest, spre deosebire de Chiller nu m-am jucat nimic nou (well, m-am jucat ceva vechi in the form of Half-Life, multiplayer, but hey :)). Nu am citit mai nimic nou ... and I didn't get a lap-dance.

Pretty boring, eh... noroc cu ocazionalul film. Ieri am vazut Skeleton Key la cinema cu Raruka-chan. What can I say... filmul m-a impresionat mai putin decat ma asteptam. De speriat, ma asteptam sa nu ma sperie atat (... ma uitasem un pic pe site-ul filmului...) dar macar ma asteptam la a few non-shock scares.

Adica: io (Mircea, mare voievod si domn) cred ca-s doua tipuri de scare-uri intr-un film horror. The shock scares and the non-shock scares. Everyone can do a shock-scare:

1. [optional] Build tension with a soundtrack and/or scary situation and/or first-person approach from behind the character.
2. Suddenly show something AND make a loud noise or two (drums, screams, whatever comes into mind).
3. End the scene before people get used to it.

Yeah, e elementar si toate filmele de groaza stiu sa faca asta. Si, mai ales intr-un cinema cu surround basically nu are cum sa nu mearga. Filmele Horror bune insa stiu sa faca non-shock scares: they frighten you without suddenly displaying anything... just by sheer... HORROR.

Look at The Ring for instance. It has its fair share of shock-scares, but some of the most scary moments are non-shock. Anyway, I'm still looking for a nice & new horror movie.

Cu ocazia acestui Skeleton Key am aflat si faptul ca Raluca are cam +20 la Spot (pentru oamenii familiarizati cu d20 :P). I mean, she'd notice detalii dintr-alea foarte mici gen "Uite avea si el un inel dintr-ala cu serpi". Shudder :P. And then of course there's this whole "cartela" story, but I'm not gonna tell you about it.

Desi ma straduiesc nu-mi vin in minte alte evenimente interesante worth mentioning... Oricum, e prea devreme ca sa scriu blog-posturi adevarate. Pana una alta you may have this...
